The Tom Baldwin Memorial Scholarship will be are awarded principally on the applicants’ community-service record, rather than academics. We know if students start volunteering and giving early in life, they will usually continue this spirit of community service into their adult lives. This is the one quality that truly depicted Tom Baldwin’s approach to public service.
One (1) scholarship in the amount of $1500 will be awarded this program year. This scholarship is sponsored by the Mackenzie Forest Education Society and administered by the Boreal Forest Research Centre. The Mackenzie Forest Education Society is also partner with the Bursary Partnership fund of the Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC). As such, the successful applicant will be eligible to receive matching funds. This would double the award to $3,000.
Student Selection
The Mackenzie Forest Education Society Board of Directors will select the student for funding.
